On June 28, Guanting Reservoir Huailai Bridge undertaken by MBEC was opened to traffic.

The Huailai Bridge was constructed on Guanting Lake, which is known as "the first lake in the west of Beijing". The bridge site is located in the first-level water source protection area. In order to ensure that the water source of the Guanting Reservoir is not polluted, the main bridge stiffening girder of the bridge adopts the stiffening girder structure system of "concrete deck + dense girder", and the steel is made of coating-free weathering steel material, which is the first time that it has been used on a large span bridge in China.

The Huailai Bridge is located above the Guanting Reservoir in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. It is constructed according to the dual-way four-lane urban arterial road standard. The design speed is 60km/h. It is a twin-tower single-span suspension bridge with a total length of 1988m and the main tower height of 107.8 meters, the width of the bridge is 33.6m. The Huailai Birdge is the largest span suspension bridge in the North of China. The bridge is an important part of the Olympic corridor for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. It will play a positive role in connecting the roads of the Guanting Reservoir National Wetland Park and developing tourism economy.
