On April 14, the concrete casting for no.9 main deck of pier 6 for chishi cable stay bridge in hunan province is successfully completed by 5^th Engineering Company of China Major Bridge Engineering Co.,Ltd.(MBEC).

All main towers for Chishi Cable Stay Bridge have 23 pairs of stay cable, in fan shaped layout, composed of steel wire strand stay cables. Stay cables will be suspended at tower ends, anchored at deck end and later stressed at tower location. The whole cable stayed bridge is divided into totally 193 nos. deck segments which will be launched by front support guyed form travelers, firstly suspending stay cable and later launching deck segments. Each deck segments will be completed as per 64 nos. construction sequence.

Project office for Chishi Cable Stay Bridge of MBEC has taken effectively measures to control the construction periods of main decks by taking various forms such as arranging workers at designated posts, setting project schedule in reuersed order and carrying out Labor competition contest etc.; By means of improving stressing sequence, optimizing rebar and formwork construction techniques as well as other technical measures, it is planned to shorten construction cycle of main deck segments from original 16 days to 11 days.
